Writing for Words
There’s just some problem with writing for a wordcount goal rather than just writing because you’re genuinely struck with inspiration or something.
I generally find that when I write for a word count goal daily, I’m writing in the last hour of the day and cramming in as many bull crap words as I can, even if it has nothing to do with the plot or what I want to say or anything at all. It tends to be a lower quality work and it isn’t what it needs to be. Now, I found I can get around this by skipping a day of writing and making up for it the next day… but that’s no fun, is it? I want to write what I want to write and it’ll come out the way it needs to, when it needs to.
That being said, I’m behind on my word goal for today/this month, so I’m going to write some more today.
